How to Bypass Your PTO Switch?

When you engage the PTO switch, it activates the clutch (the mechanism that connects and disconnects engine power to the mechanical part) of the mower blades. When you release the PTO switch, it removes power to the blades and the mower stops cutting.

How to bypass PTO switch?

Step 1: Turn your mower off

Firstly, the most important thing you must do is turn off the mower's engine and cut off the ignition key. Then make sure the steering trigger is in a neutral position to eliminate all other problems when it works. After that, wait at least a few minutes to stop the blade and other moving parts.

Step 2: Flip up the seat

Turn your lawn mower seat and turn on the safety switch. If necessary, use a screwdriver to remove the nut and unlock the seat.

Step 3: Find the safety switch socket

You will see a 3-wire safety switch under the seat or a 4-wire safety outlet connected to your seat. Basically, when you sit on the lawn mower workbench, these wires connect to the safety pin socket that tells the motor and blade to run. But suppose it doesn't get the bonds somehow. In this case, you cannot simply start the engine and blades for protection. You’re recommended to twist this socket by going around it so that someone is still sitting in the seat.
